JOANNA RUSS
I'm at work on a biography of feminist science fiction author, Joanna Russ. The 2018 Ursula Le Guin Feminist Science Fiction Fellowship and the 2023 Hazel Rowley Prize have supported this work to date.
RURAL POETICS PODCAST
With my collaborator Marty Cain, I produce the Rural Poetics podcast for Cornell's Society for the Humanities. Each episode explores matters of rural poetry and small press literature, featuring interviews with publishers local to Ithaca, New York, and discussions and readings with rural poets elsewhere. Check out our first episode, a reading and interview with poet Nikki Wallschlaeger, and my interview with Nancy Bereano, founder of the groundbreaking Firebrand Books publishing house.
Rural Poetics is part of Cornell's Rural Humanities Initiative, which is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
FEMINIST GENERATIONS, FEMINIST GENEALOGIES
"Feminist Generations, Feminist Genealogies" will run as part of Princeton's Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program in the Humanities for the 2021-2022 academic year. The reading group, founded and run by Malina Buturović and I, examines the long and complicated legacy of 1970s feminism on contemporary anthropological and biological thought.
